After losing out on the Nobel Peace Prize last year, President Donald Trump told Norway’s leader that he no longer feels the need to focus only on being “peaceful.” In other words Donald Trump is saying that because he didn’t get a Nobel Peace Prize, he no longer wants to focus on being peaceful. In a newly released text message, he explained that this is why he is now taking a much tougher and more aggressive approach toward the idea of the U.S. acquiring Greenland. Since then, he put tariffs on a bunch of European countries. He sent this in a tweet Sunday, January 18th, 2026.
