Jimmy Huntington School Flooded and School Cancelled

A water pipe for the sprinkler system broke on Thursday, February 19th and caused school to be cancelled the rest of the week because of the damage. It flooded so badly that maintenance had to tear up the floor on the secondary side and replace flooring with wood. They also set up heaters, fans, and dehumidifiers to dry it out. Dominique got on the radio when the fire alarm went off and she saw all the water. Community members from Huslia quickly came with pumps to suck up all the water before the damage got worse.

It isn’t known what caused the leak, but there was a related problem earlier this year from too much pressure in the sprinkler system. Maintenance still needs to replace the rest of the flooring, but school and the tournament is going on as usual.
