In a bizarre turn of events, local hunters reported seeing a moose speeding away on a snowmachine early Monday morning. Witnesses claim the moose, now dubbed “Speedy Bull”, was last seen heading toward the hills at nearly 40 mph, leaving a trail of bewildered hunters in its wake.
“I thought I had a clear shot, then suddenly, vroom! The moose was gone,” said longtime hunter Raymond Albert. “I’ve never seen anything like it. I think he even looked back at me and winked!”
Officials are investigating how the moose managed to start and operate the machine, with some speculating it may have been trained by survivalist animals or a rebellious snowmobiler looking to mess with the town.
“We’re not ruling out the possibility that this moose is smarter than we are,” said wildlife officer Sarah James. “If he shows up at the gas station trying to refuel, we’ll know for sure.” Locals are being advised to secure their vehicles and avoid making direct eye contact with any particularly confident-looking moose.
