New Score Table Ready for Huslia’s Upcoming Tournament Made by Steve and his Class

Steve and his class built a wooden table for a pillar on the middle-left side of the gym. It was designed for score keeping and tracking the upcoming Huslia tournaments, which run from Wednesday to Saturday. The teams from Tanana and Ruby arrive today, Wednesday, but will leave on Thursday as soon as the other teams arrive. This is due to limited flight availability and packed planes. The remaining teams, Galena and Effie, arrive Thursday and stay until Saturday.

The wooden table is specifically for these tournaments. Players will switch their benches to the side with the new table to test how the setup works. Steve also mounted a new camera high up on the opposite pillar for the “Huslia News” YouTube channel. This replaces his old setup, which was risky because a player or a basketball could easily have crashed into it.

We finished the table last week, just one day before the school flooded. We got lucky; otherwise, the project would have been delayed because Monday was a holiday. The table was constructed using wood, nails, and wood filler to hide the screws. Steve also created a custom banner for the table featuring pictures of a basketball and a dog musher.
